Autumn

November is an odd month of the year that equally some look forward too and some dread. We at PRWineBEAT can’t wait for Christmas season to begin but patiently awaiting it reveals shorter and colder days here in the Northern Hemisphere. To help you all truly enjoy your November, we have put together a list of 8 wines that are perfect for any occasion and that will definitely brighten up your month.

Shakshuka is a great autumn dish. Why not pair it with a glass of Rosé?

Campo Viejo Rosé

Our personal belief is that rosé is non-seasonal – you can enjoy it all year long. Our Campo Viejo Rosé is absolutely perfect as an aperitif or paired with dishes such as grilled fish, tomato salad, fish and chips or Asian cuisine (try it with a curry!). We also recommend trying it mixed in a cocktail: simply mix 120ml of Campo Viejo Rosé with 60 ml ginger ale and top with ice and raspberries. Dangerously addictive!

Campo Viejo Tempranillo and Campo Viejo Winemakers’ Blend:

These are both perfect transition wines – not too bold, not too light; ideal for Autumn! Put them in the fridge for an hour or so before uncorking (yes, you can chill red wines) or enjoy them at room temperature! If you are a foodie, try the Winemakers’ Blend with Shakshuka or the Tempranillo with an oily fish like salmon. Thanks to both of the wine’s natural fruitiness, they are also perfect to make a sangria: mix a bottle of red wine with 500 ml of ginger ale and 3 tablespoons of honey or agave syrup. Add your favourite fruit and leave to macerate for 2-3 hours.

An Autumn glass of Sauvignon Blanc? Yes please.

Brancott Estate Pinot Grigio:

Who doesn’t love dessert? Brancott Estate Pinot Grigio is perfect for those who enjoy a sweeter, fruitier style of wine (us wine geeks, we call it off-dry) or those with a sweet tooth. It’s perfect with fruit pies or cheesecake, but also a winning combination with spicy cuisine (think Indian, Thai or Malay).

Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc:

Savvy B fans unite! (that’s what the kiwis call it) We savvy fans already know that it’s more than appropriate to enjoy this wine all year around but truth be told, it’s the ideal companion for some lighter dishes, that can be enjoyed during autumn too. Try Sauvign Blanc with seafood incl. steamed mussels, prawns, etc. or with autumnal salads such as burrata and grilled peach salad, or grilled autumnal veg with hummus.

Fancy a warming glass of Malbec whilst watching the rain?

Rutas de Cafayate Malbec and Leaps and Bounds Chardonnay:

Planning on hosting an autumnal BBQ in your backyard? Replete with cozy rugs of course!? Here your best friends should be Cafayate Malbec and Leaps and Bounds Chardonnay. Malbec with its body and aromas of red berries & dark fruit is the perfect match for autumnal barbeque dishes such as grilled vegetables, hoisin pork ribs or kebabs. If you’re feeling adventurous why not try barbeque dishes with Leaps and Bounds Chardonnay? If you’re feeling creative, make a lower ABV twist on the classic gin + tonic: add 100ml of Chardonnay, 10 ml of lemon juice and 80 ml of elderflower soda to a high ball glass and give it a quick stir. The perfect low alcohol drink for a barbecue at any time of day!

Jacob’s Creek Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon: From the outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon growing region that is South Australia’s limestome coast, this super gastronomic wine will enhance any cool weather social gathering. It’s match made in heaven paired with a beef burger, stuffed portabello mushrooms or lamb cutlets, and a great glass of wine to accompany good conversation in front of a warming winter fire.
